This senior leadership role involves developing and executing strategic plans to grow and lead the San Diego and Irvine offices of CannonDesign, focusing on business development, client engagement, fostering a collaborative and inclusive design culture, and representing the firm's Living-Centered Design ethos.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and lead a high-performance, diverse, and inclusive leadership team for the San Diego and Irvine offices.
Create and implement a strategic business plan to drive office growth, branding, and client engagement.
Partner with leaders to grow the office's top-line revenue and achieve specific financial targets.
Identify, assess, and mentor client leaders to enhance client engagement and satisfaction.
Evaluate and develop senior talent to build a strong leadership team capable of expanding impact and growth.
Champion best practices in project management, risk management, and office profitability.
Represent the office within the community and promote the firm's brand and Living-Centered Design ethos.
Foster a design-focused culture emphasizing diversity, equity, inclusion, and innovation.
Allocate time effectively among strategic planning, client engagement, and office leadership activities.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Master's degree preferred).
15 years minimum experience with a proven track record of business development success and top-line growth.
Proven ability to develop and lead a high-performance, diverse, and inclusive leadership team.
Experience in developing and implementing a strategic business plan for an office or organization.
Experience in growing office or organizational top-line revenue with a target of achieving a minimum of 2.0 million dollars per year.
Ability to identify, assess, and evaluate client leaders and champion the implementation of client engagement processes.
Experience in mentoring and training staff and future leaders to advance client leadership and business development practices.
Experience in evaluating and addressing senior talent needs to build a strong leadership team capable of expanding impact and growth.
Ability to establish actions to implement a business plan to grow top line, optimize collaboration, expand markets and services.
Experience in championing and promoting brand enhancement activities within the community and industry.
Ability to foster a design-focused culture that emphasizes diversity, equity, inclusion, and innovation.
Experience in leading the development and execution of a yearly strategic business plan including strategies for growth, branding, and client engagement.
Ability to partner with Market Leaders, Service Leaders, Business Development Leaders, and Client Leaders to grow business volume.
Experience in strategic client development and initiatives that differentiate a firm in the marketplace.
Ability to spend approximately 30% of time engaging and partnering with clients on billable project work, including high-level leadership and relationship building.
Ability to devote approximately 15% of time to office leadership activities such as strategy development, practice and market building, recruiting, and staff development.
Effective communication skills to represent office leadership and staff in firm-wide meetings, conferences, and internal communications.
Willingness to travel as required for the role.
