A student intern role supporting the engineering team in designing and reviewing HVAC systems for various building projects, including tasks such as drafting, modeling, site visits, and assisting with construction documentation under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in designing HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, controls, and equipment selection under supervision.
Support Revit BIM modeling of construction drawings for HVAC systems from schematic design to construction phases.
Review and markup shop drawing submittals for HVAC systems.
Participate in site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
Enrolled in and working toward a Bachelor or Master s degree in Engineering.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs, specifically Revit MEP preferred.
May perform uncomplicated designs of ductwork, piping, controls, and equipment selection for HVAC systems for building design under supervision of a licensed engineer.
Assist in Revit BIM modeling of construction drawings of HVAC systems from Schematic Design to Construction Administration phases under guidance of a licensed engineer.
Assist in the review and markup of shop drawing submittals.
May visit job sites to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress, which requires a physical walk-through of the site.
