Job Description

This position involves designing and managing HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and equipment selection, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team on projects across various sectors such as education, healthcare, and commercial buildings. The role includes project management, site visits, and coordination with clients and team members to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Design and specify HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and equipment selection.
Prepare Revit BIM models of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems from schematic to construction phases.
Calculate heating and cooling loads and develop system layouts using energy modeling software.
Review shop drawings for compliance with specifications and contract documents.
Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress.
Participate in construction meetings and respond to RFIs and change orders.
Coordinate work activities with project team members and clients.
Assist with plumbing and fire protection design as needed.
Research and respond to emergent technical issues related to projects.
Supervise or provide project management within the mechanical discipline, including monitoring progress and budgets.

Requirements

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required.
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program preferred.
Minimum of 6 years of related experience required.
Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States preferred.
LEED accreditation preferred.
Must possess a working knowledge and experience in engineering design programs such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
