This position involves supporting the design and development of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for various building projects under the supervision of a licensed engineer, utilizing modeling software and assisting with construction documentation and site visits.
Key Responsibilities
Perform uncomplicated HVAC system designs, including ductwork, piping, controls, and equipment selection under supervision.
Assist with Plumbing and Fire Protection system designs as needed.
Prepare Building Load Calculations and Energy Models using modeling software under supervisory oversight.
Assist in Revit BIM modeling of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection construction drawings from schematic to construction phases.
Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with contract documents.
Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required by hire date.
Knowledge and ability to apply principles and theories of advanced heat transfer, solar energy, and advanced fluid dynamics in the design of HVAC systems.
Must have strong communication, teamwork, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects.
Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, Trane Trace or Trane 3D Plus preferred.
Related student internship work experience preferred.
EIT (Engineer in Training) or LEED accreditation preferred.
