Assist in the design and development of interior spaces through all project phases, including creating drawings, selecting furniture and materials, and supporting construction administration activities, within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
Assist senior interior designer and project manager in executing project goals across all phases including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration
Develop interior space designs through planning, 3D studies, and documentation such as floor plans, elevations, and details
Support furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) selection, layout, and specifications throughout project phases
Produce drawings adhering to project constraints and follow drawing standards
Research and apply building and life safety codes to interior design work
Prepare renderings and presentation materials for client and team review
Participate in construction administration activities, including site visits, review of submittals, and punch list completion
Mentor less experienced interior design staff and guide project document development
Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field required.
Minimum of 4 years of related experience required.
Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
Must be able to participate in the development of projects' technical or design characteristics and content.
Strong creative design portfolio is essential.
Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite required.
Ability to assist in the execution of project goals throughout all phases including Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.
Ability to independently assist in the design development and documentation of interior spaces including drawings of floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, pattern designs, elevations, details, etc.
Ability to produce drawings in conformance with project time, cost, and quality constraints.
Ability to identify, research, and apply building and life safety codes to applicable interior design work.
Ability to prepare renderings and other presentation materials.
Ability to follow CannonDesign drawing standards.
Ability to participate in client meetings with Senior Interior Designer to gain client interaction and presentation experience.
Ability to participate in construction administration activities, including site visits, review of submittals and shop drawings, and conducting punch list.
Physical ability to frequently perform site walk-throughs.
Willingness to travel as required.
Adherence to internal policies, including completing mandatory training and compliance requirements.
