Job Description

The position is an executive management role responsible for leading regional growth, strategic planning, and operational excellence within the firm's central region, while promoting design quality, client development, and firm-wide collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a regional growth plan with a minimum of 10% year-over-year growth.
  • Build and lead a high-performing, diverse, and inclusive senior leadership team in the region.
  • Define and implement a strategic regional growth and business development plan.
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities, clients, practices, and business lines.
  • Oversee business practices, risk mitigation, and quality of work across the region.
  • Champion design excellence, sustainable strategies, and quality standards.
  • Partner with practice and market leaders to achieve profitability and financial goals.
  • Represent the firm externally at community events, conferences, and speaking engagements.
  • Communicate effectively internally to foster collaboration and keep staff informed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree is required for this role. Advanced degrees are preferred.
  • Generally, at least 20 years of related experience or equivalent is required.
  • Experience working in the A E I industry is required.
  • Proven track record of ability to lead and inspire others required.
  • Ability to develop and execute a strategic regional growth plan with a minimum of 10% year-over-year growth.
  • Experience in sourcing, building, and advancing a high-performing, diverse, and inclusive senior leadership team including region and office-based talent.
  • Ability to define and implement a strategic regional growth plan in partnership with firm and market leadership.
  • Experience in partnering with practice leaders, market leaders, and business line leaders to identify growth opportunities, key target clients, and annual Net Signed Fee targets to grow the region's business volume by at least 10% annually.
  • Ability to evaluate and address senior talent needs within the region and identify new markets, practices, and business lines for investment and development.
  • Experience in supporting research and development of new ideas, services, and products to differentiate the firm and expand business potential.
  • Ability to champion best practices in project management, risk management, process improvement, project leadership, and financial stewardship in collaboration with regional practice directors.
  • Experience in achieving or exceeding profitability goals for the firm and the region.
  • Ability to represent the firm externally at community-based events, conferences, and broader events, including writing, speaking, and communicating through external venues.
  • Ability to develop and execute internal communication processes to keep staff informed and foster collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ownership and accountability in work and leadership roles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally, energize, inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrate inclusive leadership of a diverse team.
  • Ability to champion entrepreneurial behavior, be open to new ideas, innovative concepts, and solutions.
  • Demonstrate business acumen with a sound approach regarding risk management and mitigation.
  • Ability to build the firm's brand externally and be visible in the region.
  • Champion the Living-Centered Design ethos.
