This position involves electrical engineering design and project management for construction and renovation projects in healthcare, education, and commercial sectors, including preparing construction documents, overseeing site visits, and guiding team members to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in project planning sessions and lead when appropriate
Perform electrical systems design for building projects, including lighting, power, signaling, communications, and telecommunication systems
Prepare construction documents such as drawings and specifications
Guide less experienced team members in executing drawings
Specify electrical equipment and components
Conduct quality control checks of engineering documents and layouts
Review and markup shop drawings and submittals
Respond to RFIs and review change orders during construction
Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress
Attend and participate in construction meetings
Requirements
Minimum of 6 years of related experience in electrical engineering.
Prior experience on Health, Education, and/or Science and Technology projects is preferred.
LEED accreditation is preferred.
Must be an independent thinker, analytical, and contribute to process development.
Must possess working knowledge and experience in electrical engineering, while still acquiring higher level knowledge.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience with computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, AGI32, Visual, and SKM Power Tools.
