Job Description
This role involves performing building performance analysis, creating visualizations of energy and environmental metrics, and supporting high-performance, sustainable building design projects within a multidisciplinary team. The position requires expertise in energy modeling, data analysis, and communication to help develop innovative solutions for various building typologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform building performance analysis and create graphical representations of results for communication with project teams.
- Develop visualizations of building energy consumption, thermal performance, daylighting, glare, thermal comfort, renewable energy, climate, massing, and orientation metrics.
- Conduct detailed energy and daylighting analyses to support early design stages and provide feedback.
- Manage documentation for LEED energy credits, energy code compliance reports, and other performance rating systems.
- Research and improve performance modeling methodologies, workflows, and software tools.
- Provide leadership and subject matter expertise to clients and project teams across multiple projects.
- Develop research, case studies, and white papers to present findings and recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in related field required
- A minimum of 6 years of related experience required
- Must be able to assist with data analysis, energy modeling, and visualization tools, and be familiar with A E C industry trends related to high performance buildings
- Experience with EnergyPlus Openstudio, required
- Familiarity with ASHRAE Standard 90.1, ASHRAE Standard 62.1, LEED Reference Guides, California Title 24, IECC, and other energy related codes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills are essential
