Job Description

A Structural Designer assists engineers with field evaluations of industrial structures and develops detailed 2D and 3D BIM drawings using AutoCAD and other modeling software, supporting structural assessments and repair designs across various materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field evaluations and measurements of existing structures to develop repair drawings
  • Develop detailed structural drawings of steel, concrete, wood, and masonry
  • Lead in the development of evaluation report design portions
  • Review drawings produced by others
  • Drive the development of business applications for emerging technologies

Requirements

  • Possess a 2-year technical degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural design or related field.
  • Proficiency with 2D AutoCAD and BIM 3D Modelling software.
  • Exposure to Bluebeam software.
  • Experience with Advanced Steel is preferred.
  • Experience with REVIT software is required.
  • Proficiency with CADWorx, S3D, E3D, or similar 3D modeling tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to develop detailed structural drawings of steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to meet all client-specific site requirements prior to deployment on field assignments.
  • Physical mobility on the ground and at heights to perform field evaluations and measurements.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms or scaffolding using appropriate fall protection.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, cold, and wind while wearing PPE.
  • Ability to position oneself to work in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to adhere to a client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site.
  • Willingness to meet a client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site.
