Job Description
A Lead Structural Engineer responsible for evaluating industrial structures, developing analytical models, designing rehabilitation plans, and providing technical support for construction projects, with opportunities for professional growth and fieldwork in various industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead field evaluation of existing industrial structures
- Develop calculations and analytical models for steel, concrete, and other materials
- Design rehabilitation or replacement plans for structures
- Specify materials and write technical reports
- Provide technical support and quality control during structural construction
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Structural Engineering
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering
- E.I.T. licensure required; P.E. licensure preferred
- Knowledge of STAAD SAP, ACI 318, AISC, ASCE-7, and IBC required
- Familiarity with AWS D.1. code required
- Basic team coordination experience required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under licensed P.E. and S.E. to progress towards professional licensure
- Must possess physical mobility on the ground and at heights
- Ability to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms or scaffolding using appropriate fall protection
- Ability to work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, cold, and wind while wearing PPE such as hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and steel-toed work boots
- Must be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces
- Must meet client-specific site requirements prior to deployment on field assignments
- Must adhere to a client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site
- Must meet a client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site
