The Instrument Engineer assists in creating and updating process instrumentation project deliverables, conducts site surveys, and prepares documentation under supervision, supporting the development of instrumentation data, drawings, and lists for industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in generating instrumentation project deliverables for new or updated process instrumentation
Perform project site surveys and walkdowns of existing instrumentation
Develop and prepare as-built or as-found instrumentation documentation
Conduct client documentation searches for required project documents
Possess a BSc degree in Instrument, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
Have a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 3 years of relevant experience in instrumentation or related fields.
E.I.T. licensure is preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, Microsoft Windows, and PC hardware.
Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to meet all client-specific site requirements prior to deployment on any field assignment.
Must possess physical mobility on the ground and at heights.
Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms or scaffolding using appropriate fall protection.
Ability to work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, cold, and wind while wearing PPE such as hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and steel-toed work boots.
Must be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces.
Must adhere to a client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site.
Must meet a client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site.
