Job Description

The Associate Structural Engineer is responsible for leading field evaluations of industrial structures, analyzing data, developing models, designing rehabilitation plans, and providing technical support for structural projects, with opportunities for professional growth and fieldwork in various industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead field evaluation of existing industrial structures
  • Develop calculations and analytical models for steel, concrete, and other materials
  • Design rehabilitation or replacement plans and specify materials
  • Write reports and provide technical support for structural construction
  • Conduct root cause failure analysis of structural defects

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Structural Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural engineering
  • E.I.T. (Engineer-in-Training) licensure required; P.E. (Professional Engineer) licensure preferred
  • Knowledge of STAAD, SAP, ACI 318, AISC, ASCE-7, and IBC required
  • Familiarity with AWS D.1. code required
  • Basic team coordination experience required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead field evaluation of existing structures
  • Ability to develop calculations and analytical models in steel, concrete, and other materials
  • Ability to design rehabilitation and replacement plans, specify materials, and write reports
  • Ability to provide technical support and quality control of structural construction
  • Must possess physical mobility on the ground and at heights
  • Ability to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and work off platforms or scaffolding using appropriate fall protection
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, cold, and wind while wearing PPE
  • Ability to position oneself to work in confined spaces
  • Must adhere to client-specific site requirements, including drug testing and safety policies such as facial hair policies
