Job Description
A detail-oriented Associate Structural Engineer is responsible for leading field evaluations of industrial structures, analyzing data, developing models, designing rehabilitation or replacement plans, and providing technical support for structural construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead field evaluation of existing industrial structures
- Develop calculations and analytical models for steel, concrete, and other materials
- Design rehabilitation or replacement plans for structures
- Specify materials and write technical reports
- Provide technical support and quality control during structural construction
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Structural Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural engineering
- E.I.T. licensure required; P.E. licensure preferred
- Knowledge of STAAD SAP, ACI 318, AISC, ASCE-7, and IBC required
- Familiarity with AWS D.1. code required
- AutoCAD proficiency preferred
- Basic team coordination experience required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead field evaluation of existing structures
- Ability to develop calculations and analytical models in steel, concrete, and other materials
- Ability to design rehabilitation and/or replacement plans and specify materials
- Ability to write reports and provide technical support and quality control for structural construction
- Must be able to meet all client-specific site requirements prior to deployment, including:
- Possess physical mobility on the ground and at heights
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms or scaffolding using appropriate fall protection
- Ability to work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, cold, and wind while wearing PPE
- Ability to position oneself in confined spaces
- Willingness to adhere to client’s random drug testing program prior to site entry
- Willingness to meet client’s facial hair safety policy prior to site entry
