The Associate Structural Engineer is responsible for leading field evaluations of industrial structures, analyzing data, developing models, designing rehabilitation plans, and providing technical support for structural projects, with opportunities for professional growth and certification.
Key Responsibilities
Lead field evaluation of existing structures
Develop calculations and analytical models in steel, concrete, and other materials
Design rehabilitation or replacement plans for structures
Specify materials and write technical reports
Provide technical support and quality control during structural construction
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Civil Structural Engineering
Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural engineering
Knowledge of STAAD SAP, ACI 318, AISC, ASCE-7, and IBC required
Familiarity with AWS D.1. code required
Basic team coordination experience required
Strong written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to lead field evaluation of existing structures
Ability to develop calculations and analytical models in steel, concrete, and other materials
Ability to design rehabilitation and/or replacement plans, specify materials, and write reports
Work under licensed P.E.s and S.E.s to progress towards professional licensure
Must meet all client-specific site requirements prior to deployment on field assignments
Physical mobility on the ground and at heights required
Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs
Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms or scaffolding using appropriate fall protection
Ability to work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, cold, and wind while wearing PPE such as hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and steel-toed work boots
Must be able to position oneself in confined spaces
Must adhere to client’s random drug testing program prior to site entry
Must meet client’s facial hair safety policy prior to site entry
