A detail-oriented Associate Structural Engineer responsible for evaluating industrial structures, developing analytical models, designing rehabilitation plans, and supporting structural construction projects in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead field evaluation of existing industrial structures
Develop calculations and analytical models for steel, concrete, and other materials
Design rehabilitation or replacement plans and specify materials
Write reports and provide technical support and quality control for structural construction
Conduct root cause failure analysis of structural defects
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Civil Structural Engineering
Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural engineering
Knowledge of STAAD, SAP, ACI 318, AISC, ASCE-7, and IBC required
Familiarity with AWS D.1. code required
Basic team coordination experience required
Strong written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to work under licensed P.E. and S.E. to progress towards professional licensure
Must be able to lead field evaluations of existing structures
Must be able to develop calculations and analytical models in steel, concrete, and other materials
Must be able to design rehabilitation and/or replacement plans and specify materials
Must be able to write reports and provide technical support and quality control for structural construction
Must meet all client-specific site requirements prior to deployment on any field assignment
Must possess physical mobility on the ground and at heights
Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs
Must be able to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms or scaffolding using appropriate fall protection
Must be able to work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, cold, and wind while wearing PPE such as hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, ear plugs, masks, respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and steel-toed work boots
May be required to position oneself in confined spaces
May be required to adhere to a client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site
May be required to meet a client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site
