Job Description
A Structural Engineer responsible for evaluating industrial structures, developing analytical models, designing rehabilitation plans, and providing technical support for construction projects, with opportunities for professional growth and fieldwork in various industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead field evaluation of existing structures
- Develop calculations and analytical models for steel, concrete, and other materials
- Design rehabilitation or replacement plans for structures
- Specify materials and write technical reports
- Provide technical support and quality control during structural construction
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Structural Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural engineering
- E.I.T. licensure is required; P.E. licensure is preferred
- Knowledge of STAAD, SAP, ACI 318, AISC, ASCE-7, and IBC standards is required
- Familiarity with AWS D.1 code is required
- Basic team coordination experience is required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
- Ability to lead field evaluation of existing structures
- Ability to develop calculations and analytical models in steel, concrete, and other materials
- Ability to design rehabilitation and/or replacement plans and specify materials
- Ability to write reports and provide technical support and quality control for structural construction
- Must be able to meet all client-specific site requirements prior to deployment on any field assignment
- Physical mobility on the ground and at heights is required
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms or scaffolding using appropriate fall protection
- Ability to work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, cold, and wind while wearing PPE
- Must be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces
- Must adhere to a client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site
- Must meet a client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site
