The Associate Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for generating and managing instrumentation project deliverables, performing site surveys, and supporting field execution for process instrumentation systems in industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities
Generate instrumentation project deliverables and work with designers on process instrumentation updates
Perform project site surveys of existing instrumentation for replacement or redesign
Conduct client documentation searches and mark up drawings/data sheets for as-found instrumentation and wiring details
Review project requirements and scopes of work
Attend client technical meetings and field walk-downs
Develop and prepare as-built or as-found instrumentation documentation
Provide technical support during field execution and outage turnaround projects
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in instrumentation engineering or related field.
Bachelor of Science degree in Instrument, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
E.I.T. licensure (or equivalent certification).
Knowledge of ISA, API, and ASME instrumentation standards.
Working knowledge of SPI is preferred.
Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to meet all client-specific site requirements prior to deployment on field assignments.
Physical mobility on the ground and at heights, including the ability to climb ladders, stairways, and work off platforms using fall protection as required.
Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, cold, and wind while wearing appropriate PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, goggles, ear plugs, masks, respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and steel-toed work boots.
Willingness and ability to position oneself to work in confined spaces.
Willingness to adhere to a client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site.
Willingness to meet a client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site.
