Job Description

The Associate Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for generating and managing instrumentation project deliverables, performing site surveys, and supporting field execution of process instrumentation projects in a collaborative engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate instrumentation project deliverables and update process instrumentation documentation
  • Perform site surveys and walk-downs of existing instrumentation
  • Review project requirements and scopes of work
  • Attend client technical meetings and field walk-downs
  • Develop as-built or as-found instrumentation documentation
  • Perform client documentation searches for project-relevant documents
  • Create instrumentation data sheets, loop drawings, installation details, and instrument lists
  • Provide technical support for field execution and outage turnaround projects

Requirements

  • BSc in Instrument, Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in instrumentation or related field
  • Knowledge of ISA, API, and ASME instrumentation standards
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet all client-specific site requirements prior to deployment on field assignments
  • Physical mobility on the ground and at heights, including the ability to climb ladders, stairways, and work off platforms using fall protection
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, cold, and wind while wearing appropriate PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, goggles, ear plugs, masks, respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and steel-toed work boots
  • Ability to position oneself to work in confined spaces
  • Willingness to adhere to a client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site
  • Willingness to meet a client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site
