Job Description
The Associate Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for generating and managing instrumentation project deliverables, performing site surveys, and supporting field execution for process instrumentation projects in an industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate instrumentation project deliverables and work with designers on process instrumentation updates
- Perform site surveys of existing instrumentation for replacement or redesign
- Conduct client documentation searches and markup drawings/data sheets
- Develop and prepare as-built or as-found instrumentation documentation
- Create instrumentation data sheets, loop drawings, installation details, instrument lists, and P&ID diagrams
- Attend client technical meetings and field walk-downs
- Provide technical support during field execution and outage turnaround projects
Requirements
- BSc in Instrument, Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in instrumentation or related field
- Knowledge of ISA, API, and ASME instrumentation standards
- Working knowledge of SPI is preferred
- Must possess physical mobility on the ground and at heights
- Ability to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms or scaffolding using appropriate fall protection
- Ability to work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, cold, and wind while wearing appropriate PPE
- Must be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces
- Must meet all client-specific site requirements prior to deployment on field assignments
- Must adhere to client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site
- Must meet client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site
