Job Description
The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines, gasoline engines, and hydraulic systems, with managerial responsibilities and the flexibility to work both in the field and at the shop. It requires a Class A CDL, mechanical expertise, leadership skills, and willingness to travel within the Northeast.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel, gasoline, small engines, and hydraulic systems
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment
- Operate and maintain service trucks and field repair equipment
- Supervise and manage a team of mechanics or field technicians when required
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and maintain accurate service records
- Travel to job sites for on-site repairs and field service support
Requirements
- Must have a Class A CDL license.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in diesel, gasoline, and small engine repair.
- Ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel and gasoline engines, including small engines and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on a variety of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Experience operating and maintaining service trucks and equipment necessary for field repairs.
- Willingness to travel for fieldwork as necessary, with travel required 75% in the Northeast region.
- Must reside within 40 miles of Rock Tavern, NY.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in managing a team or leading a shop field service crew.
- Must be able to work a minimum of forty (40) hours per week.
- Must pass pre-employment background check, criminal history check, and pre-employment drug screen, including compliance with DOT regulations 49 CFR 40.25 for safety-sensitive duties.

Hourly wage range of $36.06 to $45.67 with eligibility for overtime pay
