Job Description

The role involves leading and managing complex geothermal energy projects from inception to contract completion, including stakeholder engagement, technical and financial analysis, and business development to drive sales and project pipeline growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multidisciplinary geothermal development projects, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and performance standards.
  • Coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders to meet project timelines and maintain clear communication.
  • Develop and execute communication strategies for stakeholder engagement and client presentations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and project beneficiaries, understanding their needs and addressing concerns.
  • Translate technical geological, engineering, and financial information into actionable guidance for internal teams and clients.
  • Develop and present project financials, including capital and operating expenses, and navigate relevant regulations and incentive programs.
  • Articulate the company's value proposition, develop sales strategies, and manage the project pipeline to meet revenue targets.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of work experience in client facing roles in energy efficiency and renewable energy.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years in any combination of supervisory, sales, project management, project implementation, or similar experience.
  • Background in or experience working with renewable energy project development, real estate development, MEP engineering, environmental engineering, construction project management, architecture, or a comparable field.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical, engineering, financial, and regulatory documents, including but not limited to drilling reports, cost estimates, thermal conductivity reports, site plans and specification packages, and grants.
  • Demonstrated expertise in navigating complex approval processes.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, technical disciplines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with managing client-facing projects to a schedule.
  • Proficiency with project management software, CRM, and communication platforms for performance tracking, transparent information sharing, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation abilities to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills with experience in stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, both internal and external.
  • Ability to manage a pipeline of projects to meet or exceed sales and/or revenue targets.
  • Willingness to work a minimum of 30 hours per week to maintain full-time status, with an expectation of an average of 40 hours per week including overtime as scheduled.
  • Travel required up to 25% within the Northeast region.
  • Ability to work in an office setting with a hybrid work model (3 days in office per week).
  • Pre-employment background check including employment verification, criminal history check, and drug screen.
  • Consent to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing records in accordance with DOT regulations for safety-sensitive duties.
  • Ability to interpret and synthesize geological maps, feasibility reports, engineering analyses, utility incentive programs, federal, state, and local grant programs, and relevant regulations.
  • Ability to develop and articulate project financials including capital and operating expenses.
  • Ability to develop and execute stakeholder engagement and communication strategies, including client presentations and relationship building.
  • Resourcefulness, initiative, strong sense of ownership, and ability to work independently and creatively in a fast-paced, evolving industry environment.
  • Strategic thinking skills with the ability to see the bigger picture beyond day-to-day tasks.

Base annual salary range of $150,000-$180,000
Uncapped quarterly commission structure
Hybrid work setting with 2 days remote work per week
Work hours averaging 40 hours per week with overtime as scheduled
