Key Responsibilities
Lead on-site execution of ground-up commercial construction projects, focusing on mechanical systems integration and early-phase construction.
Manage full project lifecycle from preconstruction planning to project closeout, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk mitigation.
Coordinate and oversee mechanical systems installation, including geothermal and HVAC, within the broader construction process.
Supervise subcontractors, field teams, and vendors to ensure project goals, schedules, and quality standards are met.
Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
Act as the primary on-site contact for general contractors, clients, and stakeholders, managing expectations and resolving issues.
Oversee contract administration, scope management, and technical documentation review related to mechanical systems.
Foster collaboration between field operations, engineering, and project management teams.
Mentor and guide junior staff and site personnel to promote a high-performance work environment.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in construction management, with demonstrated success in senior or lead field roles.
Proven experience managing full lifecycle, ground-up commercial construction projects.
Strong background in mechanical systems such as HVAC, geothermal, piping, or similar and their integration into new construction.
Hands-on experience with early-phase construction, including sitework, drilling, and foundations.
Deep understanding of construction safety, scheduling, cost control, and contract management.
Experience with managing mechanical systems including geothermal and HVAC within the broader construction process.
Experience managing full project lifecycle responsibilities, including preconstruction planning, mobilization, execution, and project closeout.
Ability to direct and manage subcontractors, field teams, and vendors to ensure alignment with project goals, schedules, and quality standards.
Ability to own and drive project schedules, budgets, and cost controls, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex, fast-paced job sites.
Experience with reviewing and coordinating submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and technical documentation related to mechanical systems.
Strong understanding of scopes, sequencing, and trade coordination in contract execution and administration.
Knowledge of construction management software such as Procore or similar (strongly preferred).
Ability to enforce and continuously improve site safety programs, ensuring full compliance with OSHA and company standards.
Physical ability to meet the physical demands of the position, which is a safety-sensitive role.
Ability to work a minimum of 30 hours per week, with an expectation of an average of 40 hours, including overtime as scheduled.
Willingness to travel up to 80% to work project sites in the greater Northeast Region and beyond.
