Job Description
This role involves leading procurement strategies and negotiations for large-scale renewable energy projects, including solar, HV, and BESS systems, to optimize project costs, manage contracts, and build strategic supplier partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for PV, HV, and BESS projects.
- Lead procurement selections and manage commercial frameworks with EPCs and equipment suppliers.
- Negotiate EPC contracts and oversee the full procurement lifecycle, including RFP development and bid analysis.
- Establish standardized contracting practices to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
- Manage CAPEX reviews, reconciliations, and value engineering to improve cost accuracy.
- Build strategic partnerships with EPC firms and suppliers to secure favorable terms.
- Drive process improvements in bidding and contracting to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Lead supplier prequalification and risk assessments for vendors.
- Support project activities during preconstruction, including design, permitting, and RFP responses.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and negotiate contracts and support project execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or advanced Degree in STEM, such as Environment Science, or MBA
- Ability to lead complex commercial negotiations
- Demonstrated experience with negotiating commercial and technical aspects of EPC and equipment contracts
- Experience working within the ecosystem of renewable energy and BESS with large capex budgets
- 5-10 years of increasingly progressive procurement and/or commercial transactions experience
- At least 1 year of BESS experience (preferred)
