Job Description
This legal position involves supporting the development, financing, and acquisition of utility-scale solar and storage energy projects, including negotiating contracts, advising on project finance and M&A transactions, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support legal aspects of development projects, including negotiating agreements and supervising outside counsel
- Provide legal support for project finance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships
- Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents such as asset purchase agreements, project finance documents, and membership interest purchase agreements
- Structure, draft, review, and negotiate power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, EPC agreements, and other project-related contracts
- Structure, draft, review, and negotiate debt and equity financing arrangements, including portfolio financing and tax equity structures
- Coordinate with internal teams on due diligence and project development activities
- Perform legal diligence and provide guidance on project acquisitions and greenfield development opportunities
- Provide general legal support across the organization and manage outside counsel effectively
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
- Admitted to applicable state bar
- Minimum of 8 years of experience with commercial transactions, construction, and or financing for solar, storage, wind or other renewable energy related projects
- Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams of internal and external resources
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and negotiation skills
- High level of integrity with the ability to cultivate and maintain positive relationships
- An entrepreneurial attitude and work ethic with a desire to roll up your sleeves and get the job done in a fast-paced environment and rapidly growing business
- Willingness to be flexible about your work schedule to support closings and to meet deadlines and shifting demands and priorities
- Willingness to travel as required

Compensation/salary range: $240,952 - $290,532 USD
