The Sr. Paralegal supports real estate transactions, closings, and title work for renewable energy projects, ensuring accurate documentation and coordination across teams to facilitate project development and completion.
Key Responsibilities
Order, review, and resolve issues with title commitments, surveys, and exception documents.
Prepare, coordinate, and execute real estate agreements, landowner estoppels, and title documents.
Manage project tracking, including title searches, curative work, and project execution milestones.
Draft and review correspondence with title companies and surveyors regarding title and survey comments.
Administer contract critical dates, electronic calendaring, and closing checklists.
Coordinate crossing agreements and compliance requirements with third parties and construction teams.
Assist with all aspects of closings, including preparing documents, closing statements, and data room population.
Organize post-closing deliverables, including closing indices and binders, and monitor post-closing requirements.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum of 5 years of real estate paralegal experience in an in-house legal department or at a law firm
Experience closing complex multi-parcel real estate projects or similar transactions
Proficiency in drafting and reviewing real estate site control and title curative documents
Transactional experience and familiarity with closing mechanics and documentation
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent proofreading skills
High level of organizational skills and time management skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills required to communicate effectively with team members, multiple departments, and external counterparties
Strong analytical skills with the ability to read, comprehend, and summarize legal documents and contracts
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with team members at all levels of the company in a congenial, collaborative manner
Resourceful problem solver with the ability to operate autonomously and efficiently and to proactively find solutions
Ability to pivot between responsibilities to meet tight deadlines and shifting priorities
Entrepreneurial attitude and work ethic with a desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment
Willingness to be flexible about work schedule to support closings and meet deadlines
