Job Description
The Associate, Project Finance supports the development, valuation, and execution of renewable energy project financings, collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze market conditions, prepare financial models, and facilitate project sales and funding activities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and develop project financial models for mid-stage and late-stage assets, including offtake bidding and structuring.
- Monitor market conditions for valuation techniques and pricing of debt, tax equity, and cash equity.
- Support and lead project sale and financing activities, including due diligence, data room management, and transaction documentation.
- Assist in marketing project capital structures to lenders, investors, and strategic buyers.
- Prepare materials for Investment and Risk Committee reviews and approvals.
- Support projects in construction or operation with activities like loan draws, refinancing, and compliance monitoring.
- Apply learnings from transactions and operational projects to refine financial models and assumptions.
- Conduct macroeconomic and power market analyses to support project valuation and financing feasibility.
- Collaborate across teams on PPA pricing, engineering, EPC/O&M negotiations, and financial analysis.
- Manage tracker tools and support approval processes for transactions.
Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of project finance, corporate finance, or investment banking experience in renewable energy or similar industry.
- Familiarity with project finance structures, including tax monetization, tax credit financing, construction financing, and back-leverage.
- Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams, including managing the financial, legal, and internal review processes.
- Strong communication skills with proven track record in building relationships and working in cross-functional collaborative teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving and dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with various discounted cash flow analysis, including pre-tax, after-tax, unlevered, and levered returns.
