Job Description
The Legal Operations Associate will provide administrative support for contract lifecycle management, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and tracking commercial agreements, while collaborating with internal teams to ensure efficient and compliant contract processes in a fast-paced renewable energy company.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full contract management lifecycle from intake and drafting to negotiation, execution, and post-signature tracking
- Draft, redline, and review commercial agreements such as Master Services Agreements and Non-Disclosure Agreements
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to facilitate contract execution and understand needs
- Maintain organized contract records, version control, status tracking, and key date monitoring
- Support process improvements, including playbook development and implementation of contract management tools
- Educate stakeholders on contracting standards, approval workflows, and policy requirements
- Apply contracting best practices to improve operational efficiency, reduce risk, and ensure compliance
Requirements
- Manage the full contract management life cycle from intake and drafting through negotiation, execution, and post-signature tracking.
- Draft, redline, and review a variety of commercial agreements, including but not limited to Master Services Agreements and Non-Disclosure Agreements.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders in Legal, Risk, IT, and Business Units to understand needs, communicate risks, and ensure smooth contract execution.
- Maintain organized records and support contract version control, status tracking, and key date monitoring.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including playbook development, process enhancements, and future implementation of contract management tools.
- Educate stakeholders on contracting standards, approval workflows, and policy requirements.
- Adopt and apply contracting best practices to enhance operational efficiency, reduce risk, and drive consistency, ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, ethical standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree (not required but preferred).
- Have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in an in-house legal department or at a law firm.
- Previous experience in the renewable energy industry is preferred but not required; however, excitement about renewable energy and sustainability is a must-have.
- Demonstrate a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent proofreading skills.
- Exhibit high organizational skills and time management skills.
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills to communicate effectively with team members, multiple departments, and external counterparties.
- Have strong analytical skills with the ability to read, comprehend, and summarize legal documents and contracts.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills to interact with team members at all levels of the company in a collaborative manner.
- Be a resourceful problem solver capable of operating autonomously and efficiently, proactively finding solutions.
- Ability to pivot between responsibilities to meet tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Demonstrate an entrepreneurial work ethic with a desire to work in a fast-paced and rapidly growing environment.
- Willingness to be flexible about work schedule to support closings and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tools such as Summize and Docusign.
- Willingness to obtain Notary Public certification within 3 months of hire.

Compensation/salary range: $93,091 - $109,519 USD plus bonus
