Job Description
The position involves safely operating autonomous semi-trucks for testing and development purposes, providing real-time feedback to engineers, and supporting Aurora's mission to advance self-driving technology and improve mobility and logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely pilot autonomous semi trucks during on-road and closed course testing.
- Monitor the Aurora Driver and platform performance in real-time during testing.
- Log feedback on autonomy and platform performance for engineering analysis.
- Escalate operational issues with suggested solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of self-driving technology and operational changes.
- Work on cross-functional projects to demonstrate positive impact.
- Interact with the public as an ambassador for Aurora.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience driving trucks commercially
- Valid U.S. Driver's License
- Interstate Class-A Commercial Driver's License
- Driving record must pass Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) guidelines
- Ability to travel as needed
- Available to work day and or night shifts, including second and or third shifts, with rotating shifts as needed
- Ability to work some overtime and weekends
- Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts
- 80% of shift time spent in vehicle, with vehicle used as an office
- Must pass pre-employment, post-incident, and randomized drug testing in accordance with FMCSA requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must pass DOT physical
- Meet all DOT qualifications
