Job Description
The Staff Software Engineer will design, develop, and scale data systems for autonomous vehicle data management, working with large-scale multimodal datasets and cloud infrastructure to improve data discoverability, throughput, and system efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and scale data systems for offloading, ingesting, and managing large volumes of multimodal sensor data, logs, simulations, and ML datasets.
- Improve discoverability, throughput, and latency of offline multi-modal data pipelines.
- Create internal tools and best practices to enhance efficiency, transparency, and innovation in data management.
- Mentor and develop the engineering team with new technologies, perspectives, and designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve organizational goals related to data systems and infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BS), Master's degree (MS), or PhD in Computer Science or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in software engineering
- Proficiency in programming with GoLang and Python
- General knowledge of backend software systems including networking, load balancing, API gateways, system security, and gRPC services
- Experience with AWS infrastructure, including S3 and DynamoDB, in a production commercial system
- Knowledge of database design, database management, and database scalability
- Knowledge of workflow orchestration pipelines such as Kubernetes and CI/CD tooling
- Comfortable working with Cloud Native services
- Proficiency with Linux and other Unix environments

Compensation/salary range: $171,000.00 - $273,000.00 per year
