Key Responsibilities
Drive development, documentation, and refinement of software processes, ensuring they are aligned with ASPICE, ISO 26262, and other relevant standards requirements.
Plan and execute internal audits across requirements, architecture, and test processes for ASPICE and ISO 26262 conformance.
Own the audit findings register; drive systemic corrective action closure and escalate unresolved non-conformances to leadership with recommended disposition.
Develop, automate, and maintain reports for our Software Quality Performance Metrics.
Drive the execution and continuous improvement of the Software Quality Deficiency Management process, ensuring all non-conformances are systematically tracked and resolved.
Lead and facilitate rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis for critical quality issues and verification escapes, evaluating corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Author and present technical quality analyses, audit reports, and process improvements to internal engineering teams and leadership.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent applicable technical experience.
7+ years of progressive experience in software quality assurance, quality engineering, or QMS process management.
Demonstrated experience in a safety-critical domain (e.g., automotive, aerospace, robotics, medical devices).
Strong understanding of Software Quality Management Systems; deep command of ASPICE and working knowledge of ISO 26262-Part 6.
Proven, hands-on experience in conducting process audits and leading structured root cause analysis.
Adept at querying, analyzing, and visualizing data to track and report on quality metrics.
Proficient in tools such as Jira and Confluence for deficiency management and documentation.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to various audiences.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to provide guidance and mentorship.
Ability to work independently, as part of a cross-functional team, or as a project lead.
Advanced degree in a relevant technical field.
Familiarity with UL 4600 (autonomous systems safety) and ISO/SAE 21434 (cybersecurity) as complementary standards to ASPICE and ISO 26262.
Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., Jama).
Experience with AWS (e.g., QuickSight, S3, Lambda) for building quality metrics infrastructure.
Experience in developing process and training materials.
Experience supporting quality processes during a product’s transition from development to commercial deployment in a safety-critical environment.
The base salary range for this position is $171,000-$273,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
