Staff Hardware System Validation Engineer

• Define, develop and execute Test methodologies for verification and validation of autonomous hardware systems and components. • Collaborate with and influence key cross-functional partners, including Hardware Systems, Safety, Test organizations, Firmware and Electrical Engineering. • Perform requirements analysis, architecture studies and system characterization to derive clear performance metrics. • Drive cross-functional reviews and achieve consensus on key design validation decisions. • Drive sustaining engineering efforts, including root cause and corrective action (RCCA) for issues found in the field. • Support failure mode analysis and risk assessments by supplying necessary analysis and documentation.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field. • 7+ years of proven experience in product development, hardware test, verification, validation of electrical and/or electro-mechanical systems. • Deep understanding of V&V process, testing methodologies, statistical analysis, RCCA process for PCBA, module and system-level functions across Power, Thermals, Communication interfaces, Compute, Memory, Sensors. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders. • Experience with system design, engineering, validation for complex electrical systems such as Autonomous, Robotics or Aviation products. • Experience with ISO 16750-2 and/or ISO 26262 standards, automotive ethernet, CAN. • Experience delivering 0 to 1 products and knowledge of Product Development Process (PDP). The base salary range for this position is $154,000-$223,500 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
