Job Description
The Aurora Staff Global Supply Manager is responsible for overseeing the supply chain of complex optical hardware, managing relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective components for autonomous vehicle systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the entire supply chain for optical subsystems and components, ensuring reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Partner with engineering teams to understand technology requirements and develop sourcing strategies for optical components and contract manufacturing.
- Oversee supply chain from prototype to production, establishing a foundation for scaling.
- Manage relationships with optical suppliers and contract manufacturers, including their sub-tier supply bases.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers and contract manufacturers to secure supply and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with legal teams to draft and finalize purchase agreements and statements of work.
- Monitor market conditions, technology roadmaps, and industry challenges to identify supply and demand opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, with a proven track record of managing global supply chains.
- Deep understanding of optical systems and manufacturing, including components like lenses, mirrors, lasers, photodetectors, and processes for coatings and precision assembly.
- Demonstrated experience managing Contract Manufacturers for the production of complex, high-reliability products.
- Strong analytical and cost modeling skills, with the ability to perform detailed should-cost analysis.
- Exceptional ability to influence internal and external stakeholders, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Legal, and Finance.
- Tenacity in solving problems, with a resilient and adaptable can-do attitude in a dynamic environment.
