Job Description
A Software Test Engineer II responsible for developing and executing verification and validation processes for Aurora's autonomous driving systems, analyzing test results, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the safety, performance, and reliability of the Aurora Driver.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, execute, and train others in system verification and validation processes
- Review and analyze test results from simulation, track, and on-road environments
- Identify and investigate suboptimal system performance and work with teams to resolve issues
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and calibrate performance assessment and behavioral severity criteria
- Build frameworks and guidelines for consistent and objective system evaluation
- Identify requirements and suggest test and design enhancements to improve performance and reduce risk
- Communicate complex ideas clearly to external teams, peers, and stakeholders
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field
- Three or more years of highly relevant industry experience
- Strong foundation in verification and validation methods for safety-critical systems
- Direct experience in the testing and evaluation of complex systems
- Ability to synthesize data to generate actionable insights and inform decisions
- Flexibility to work in high-ambiguity environments with evolving priorities, while managing diverse stakeholders across software, product, and operations teams
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $94,000 - $136,500 per year
Hybrid work environment with in-office presence at least 3 days per week
