Job Description

The Software Engineer II, Test Drive at Aurora is responsible for developing and validating autonomous driving technology by building scalable tools, data pipelines, and infrastructure to support offline testing and system optimization, ultimately contributing to the safe and efficient scaling of autonomous vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop a platform for validating off-board autonomy software
Develop tools to increase development speed for building and evaluating autonomy software
Build scalable, robust, and fault-tolerant services supporting growth requirements
Create tools for system introspection, visualization, and performance analysis
Optimize autonomy system performance through architectural and algorithmic improvements
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of validation datasets

Requirements

Experience with cloud automation, data and test automation
Experience with modern programming languages such as Python, Golang, or Typescript
Experience with cloud offerings such as AWS or GCP
Experience with cloud storages such as S3, Postgres, and Redis
Ability to design and develop a platform for validating off-board autonomy software
Ability to develop tools for increasing the development speed of building and evaluating autonomy software
Ability to build highly scalable, robust, and fault-tolerant services that support growth requirements
Ability to develop tools for introspection, visualization, and performance analysis of autonomy systems
Ability to improve the performance of autonomy systems through architectural and algorithmic optimizations
Experience working with stakeholders including Autonomy Engineers, Test Engineers, Product, Cloud Platform, and Safety teams to ensure timely delivery of validation data sets
