Job Description
The Software Engineer II will work on Aurora's Map Fusion team, developing and maintaining online algorithms for dynamic map updates and routing adjustments in autonomous driving systems, ensuring safety, high availability, and robustness in complex environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain online algorithms for dynamic map content updates based on perceived lane boundaries and construction blockages.
- Update routing plans in real-time based on online observations of unexpected construction or road changes.
- Produce smooth paths for motion planning trajectory optimization during construction and unforeseen circumstances.
- Ensure high-integrity and high-availability of map fusion functionalities.
- Validate algorithms and systems using large datasets in cloud computing environments.
Requirements
- Four (4) years of software engineering experience with strong proficiency in C and Python.
- Experience with robotics systems, including coordinate frames and system dynamics.
- Ability to develop and validate safety case evidence for mission-critical online algorithms.
- Experience working with validation frameworks running on large amounts of data in large cloud compute settings.
