Job Description

The Product Program Manager at Aurora will oversee the integration of hardware and software for autonomous vehicle manufacturing, collaborating with various engineering teams and OEM partners to ensure the successful delivery of factory software and support reliable operations globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Hardware, Firmware, and Software teams to define necessary software for building and testing trucks.
  • Coordinate with hardware manufacturing partners and vehicle OEMs to understand requirements and deliver factory software.
  • Drive execution and delivery of software factory programs.
  • Develop engineering plans for software supporting manufacturing and OEM integration.
  • Collaborate with OEM team and vehicle partners to understand factory requirements and drive execution.
  • Engage Hardware Operations teams to pilot manufacturing test software and diagnostics tools.
  • Define the end-to-end software lifecycle from a manufacturing perspective.
  • Proactively identify and remove obstacles to unblock team execution.

Requirements

  • Travel up to 25%, including international travel, expected to support Aurora Driver Kit manufacturing and OEM integration plants.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Technical Program Manager, Product Manager, or Engineering Manager, in an autonomous systems, robotics, embedded systems, or software development environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Information Systems or a related area, or the equivalent in experience with evidence of exceptional ability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adjust communication based on audience.
  • Solid technical aptitude and an ability to understand technical designs, software development lifecycle, challenges and risks, and ability to work closely with engineers.
  • Strong experience in project management with practical familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and ability to apply them where best suited.
