Job Description
The role involves leading technical program execution and operational readiness for autonomous vehicle fleet operations, focusing on driving product maturity, fleet optimization, and ensuring seamless coordination across engineering and operational teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate high-level engineering goals into prioritized field missions and long-term scheduling strategies
- Ensure on-time completion of technical activities, including field operations, hardware readiness, and documentation
- Configure and deploy fleet support infrastructure for scalability and resilience
- Diagnose depot workflows and define tooling and automation investments to improve operational maturity
- Manage operating budgets, resource forecasting, and strategic investments for field execution
- Coordinate handoff processes across regions and stakeholders to mitigate systemic blockers
- Oversee safety, compliance, and regulatory adherence in depot operations and vendor performance
- Respond to emergent operations, incidents, and urgent scheduling needs
- Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management to operations team members
- Communicate operational status, risks, and strategic initiatives to leadership and stakeholders
Requirements
- Seven (7) years of experience in high-complexity dispatch, mission control, or technical fleet operations within a technology execution context.
- Three (3) years of formal people management or significant program leadership experience with a proven record of driving operational excellence and leading high-performing teams.
- Exceptional strategic critical thinking skills and the proven ability to make sound, command decisions and take definitive initiative under extreme ambiguity.
- Strong judgment and communication skills, especially when communicating operational risks and strategic status to executive audiences in high-pressure or time-sensitive situations.
- Advanced conflict resolution and stakeholder alignment experience, particularly across deeply technical and operational domains.
- Ability to maintain flexibility for day, night, and/or weekend work, often involving rapid deployment or response.
- Ability to participate in senior-level on-call response and incident management, potentially leading cross-functional response efforts.
- Experience in the autonomous vehicle, robotics, or complex aerospace defense technology field (desirable).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant technical or management field such as Engineering, Operations Research, or Program Management (desirable).
- Proven experience managing complex operational budgets including CapEx and OpEx and driving resource allocation decisions (desirable).
- Proven experience owning and coordinating operational execution across multiple stakeholder groups and geographically dispersed sites (desirable).
- Deep understanding of risk analysis, management, and mitigation as applied to field testing (desirable).
