Job Description
The Electrical Engineer will design and support high-voltage power systems for renewable energy projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring compliance with industry standards, while contributing to impactful projects in the power generation and delivery sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply electrical engineering principles to design high-voltage systems, substations, and renewable energy projects
- Lead engineering tasks from project kickoff to design package completion
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions
- Prepare technical documentation including diagrams, studies, reports, and client deliverables
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards such as NEC, NESC, IEEE, NFPA, and ANSI
- Support project managers with estimating, proposal writing, and client communication
- Conduct interdisciplinary reviews and quality assurance/quality control efforts
- Perform electrical studies such as short circuit, load flow, grounding, and arc flash analysis
- Develop relay settings and perform coordination studies
- Interface with SCADA systems and vendors for equipment submittals
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering ABET Accredited
- EIT or PE depending on level; Engineer I internship experience preferred; Engineer II-III EIT preferred or required; Engineer IV-V PE strongly preferred or required
- 5 to 10 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus in power systems, renewable energy, or substations
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Office, and at least one power system analysis software such as ETAP, CYMCAP, PSS E, SKM, ASPEN, PSCAD, or EMTP
