Job Description
A Project Manager in Atwell's Civil Engineering group responsible for overseeing diverse projects, collaborating on site plans and construction documents, analyzing survey data, mentoring junior staff, preparing technical reports, supporting construction activities, and utilizing engineering software, with opportunities for career growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the production team to draft, review, and finalize site plans and construction documents
- Analyze project survey data and existing site conditions, including legal descriptions, surveys, and easement documents
- Guide and assist junior staff to ensure accurate and efficient execution of project tasks
- Prepare technical reports, opinions, and recommendations such as hydrology studies, project schedules, and storm sewer reports
- Provide construction support, including permit applications and quantity estimates
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to complete assignments on time and within budget
- Develop project management skills through training and mentoring, with growth potential into a Project Manager role
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional engineering license (PE) or ability to obtain licensure within a specified timeframe.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil engineering project management or related roles.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and various engineering software packages.
- Experience in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing preliminary and final site plans and construction documents.
- Ability to analyze project survey data, including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents.
- Experience in preparing reports, opinions, and recommendations such as hydrology hydraulic studies, project schedules, and storm sewer reports.
- Experience providing construction support services, including permit applications and quantity estimates.
- Ability to guide and assist junior staff, ensuring project tasks are executed accurately and efficiently.
- Strong technical skills in civil engineering practices and data analysis.
- Willingness to develop project management skills through training and mentoring with the potential to grow into a Project Manager role.
