Job Description

A Junior Field Technician at Atwell, LLC, is responsible for conducting testing, inspection, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems, primarily in the Pacific Northwest, while supporting project delivery and client communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct testing, inspection, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems, including substations and data centers.
  • Perform visual, mechanical, and electrical inspections, including meter calibrations and testing protective relays.
  • Assist project managers with scheduling, budgeting, and billing, and initiate change orders when scope exceeds initial agreement.
  • Oversee the upkeep, calibration, and readiness of electrical test equipment and manage staging of tools and materials.
  • Communicate test results, flag issues, recommend corrective actions, and review final test reports and data sheets.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-5 years of relevant electrical field experience
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug alcohol screening and comply with random testing per client requirements
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. with E-Verify or comparable government screening
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook and strong documentation discipline
  • Ability to work independently in the field while coaching others
  • Clear, professional communication with clients and internal teams
  • Experience performing visual mechanical inspections and electrical testing on standard equipment and circuits, including meter calibrations, electromechanical and solid-state protective relays, and power quality load monitoring
  • Ability to assist project managers with scheduling, budgeting, and billing, understand contractual scope, and initiate Change Order Requests when work exceeds scope
  • Oversee upkeep, calibration, and readiness of electrical test equipment, and direct staging of tools and materials for efficient execution
  • Willingness to work four to five weeks on with a week off in the Pacific Northwest, mainly in Oregon
  • NETA certification is highly preferred
