Job Description
The Construction Project Manager for Renewables oversees and coordinates the engineering, construction, and commissioning of utility-scale renewable energy projects, ensuring technical compliance, safety, and timely delivery while serving as a key liaison among stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Owner's Engineering services, integrating technical, environmental, scheduling, and document control functions.
- Collaborate with engineering leads across disciplines to ensure consistency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with owners, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Oversee documentation workflows, including drawing reviews, comment resolution, and recordkeeping.
- Track project milestones, update schedules, and support budget adherence by identifying and mitigating risks.
- Prepare and present project updates, risk assessments, and performance metrics to leadership.
- Ensure all activities comply with environmental regulations, design standards, and client expectations.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of prior experience in the construction of utility-scale renewable energy projects, including at least some of civil, structural, mechanical, and/or electrical DC, MV, HV construction work.
- Experience with renewable energy major equipment types such as PV modules, solar trackers, inverters, MV transformers, substations, MPT GSU transformers, and a plus battery storage modules, instrumentation, SCADA.
- Experience in construction project management, quality management, and safety management practices.
- Proficiency with construction document management systems and construction management software, including Microsoft Office software Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
- Must possess or obtain, and maintain throughout, a valid US Driver’s License.
- Must possess or obtain, and maintain throughout, an OSHA 30-Hour Construction Training certificate.
- Must possess or obtain, and maintain throughout, an NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace certificate.
- Must possess or obtain, and maintain throughout, a First Aid, CPR, and AED certificate.
- Ability to engage directly and professionally with Atwell clients and all parties on site.
- Ability to work at client project sites long term, anywhere in the continental United States, including Texas and Illinois.
- Ability to work outdoors in all seasons and under all safe weather conditions.
- Ability to safely drive and walk around a construction site while avoiding all hazards.
