Job Description
The Land Solutions Project Manager oversees land and right of way projects for a major energy utility client, managing project delivery, property acquisitions, and client relationships while coordinating teams and ensuring project success throughout the full lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full project lifecycle for energy utility land work, including scope, budgets, schedules, and contract execution.
- Coordinate property acquisition activities such as ROW easements, surface leases, damage settlements, and encroachment agreements.
- Assemble and direct project teams, manage sub-consultants, track milestones, and troubleshoot issues.
- Build and maintain client relationships, identify growth opportunities, and follow up on proposals.
- Maintain accurate project records, manage invoicing and accounts receivable, and report financial performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Land Planning, Land Surveying, or equivalent
- At least 4 years of project management experience in the energy industry, with a focus on property rights and easement acquisition
- Hands-on experience supporting electric, gas, or energy utility clients on land and right of way programs
- Expertise in land agreements and negotiations including ROW easements, surface leases, encroachment agreements, rights of entry, fee property, and damage settlements
- Working knowledge of regulations governing right of way and other property rights
- Experience with Vision as a project management tool
- Ability to support property acquisition activities including ROW easements, surface leases, rights of entry, damage settlements, and encroachment agreements in support of utility infrastructure projects
- Ability to assemble and direct project teams, manage sub-consultants, track milestones, and troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Ability to manage the full project lifecycle for energy utility land work including establishing scope, budgets, and schedules, negotiating and executing contracts, and ensuring all deliverables meet client expectations
- Willingness and ability to travel within the region as required for client engagement and field activities
