Job Description

The role involves collaborating with team members to design residential, commercial, and industrial projects, including site layout, utility, roadway, stormwater, and grading designs, using AutoCAD Civil 3D, and supporting project development, permitting, and client communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members to design residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
  • Perform technical tasks including site layout, utility design, roadway design, site grading, storm drain and storm water management, water and sewer main design, soil erosion control, floodplain studies, and permitting support.
  • Design site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D and prepare conceptual grading analyses and site layouts.
  • Prepare and compute reports such as due diligence site analysis, engineer opinion of probable costs, utility computations, detention calculations, storm water reports, and earthwork analysis.
  • Assist in producing final construction drawings and preparing permit applications.
  • Support project managers and communicate with clients regarding project progress.
  • Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
  • Attend client and public meetings, including evenings or days as needed.
  • Participate in business development efforts as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, ability to interact with a variety of people.
  • Ability to respond quickly and accurately under pressure.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in the English language.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends to complete projects as necessary.
  • Physical ability to frequently sit and talk or hear, occasionally stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Physical ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
