Job Description

A Civil Engineer at Atwell, LLC, is responsible for designing and analyzing site plans for land development projects, conducting data assessments, preparing reports, supporting construction activities, and utilizing engineering software to ensure project accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft preliminary and final site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Analyze project survey data and assess existing site conditions
  • Prepare reports, opinions, and recommendations for project direction
  • Support construction activities through permit applications, quantity estimates, and organizing plans and documents
  • Utilize engineering software to complete assignments accurately and efficiently

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 8 years of experience in civil engineering related to land development projects
  • PE (Professional Engineer) license preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software packages such as WaterCAD, StormCAD, and SewerCAD
  • Ability to draft preliminary and final site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, ensuring precision and adherence to industry standards
  • Experience in analyzing project survey data, including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents
  • Ability to prepare reports, opinions, and recommendations such as hydrology hydraulic studies, due diligence site analysis reports, engineer’s opinion of probable costs, project schedules, utility computations, detention retention computations, storm sewer reports, local and state permit applications, stormwater reports, soils reports, earthwork volume calculations, StormCAD reports, WaterCAD reports, and preliminary grading
  • Experience in providing construction support services including permit applications, cut sheets, quantity estimates, and transmittals
  • Ability to organize site plans, construction plans, and construction documents under the guidance of senior staff
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with team members and project coordination
