Job Description

The Associate Project Manager role involves collaborating on civil engineering projects, analyzing survey data, guiding junior staff, preparing technical reports, supporting construction activities, and developing project management skills within a dynamic consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing site plans and construction documents
  • Analyze survey data and existing site conditions, including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easements, and condo documents
  • Guide and support junior staff to ensure accurate and efficient project task execution
  • Prepare technical reports, opinions, and recommendations such as hydrology studies, project schedules, and storm sewer reports
  • Provide construction support, including permit applications and quantity estimates
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to complete assignments on time and within budget
  • Develop project management skills through training and mentoring with potential to advance into a Project Manager role

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Six (6) or more years of related experience in civil engineering
  • PE (Professional Engineer) license preferred
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and various engineering software packages
  • Ability to assist in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing preliminary and final site plans and construction documents
  • Experience analyzing project survey data, including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents
  • Ability to prepare reports, opinions, and recommendations related to hydrology hydraulic studies, project schedules, storm sewer reports, and other technical documents
  • Experience providing construction-related services such as permit applications and quantity estimates
  • Strong leadership skills to guide and assist junior staff
  • Ability to develop project management skills through training and mentoring with the potential to grow into a Project Manager role
