Job Description
A Sr. Electrical Engineer at Astrodyne TDI is responsible for designing and developing advanced power conversion systems, leading testing and verification processes, collaborating on mechanical design, and providing technical support to ensure the successful development and deployment of innovative power electronics products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop advanced power conversion systems and products
- Create electrical circuit schematics and part lists
- Conduct component stress analyses and calculate MTBF
- Lead debug and design verification testing of prototypes
- Collaborate on mechanical design aspects of products
- Oversee product reliability testing
- Manage creation and maintenance of engineering documentation
- Coordinate with NPI team for project transfers and testing
- Provide technical support during bidding and product development
- Deliver technical presentations to management and staff
- Mentor and train junior engineering team members
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least five years of experience in development activities focused on electronic power conversion products, including a proven track record with switch-mode power supply designs.
- Proficiency in design tools such as PSpice and Mathcad.
- Experience in resolving EMC issues and, preferably, in high-frequency magnetic component design and microcontroller circuits for power electronics.
- Experience with agency compliance standards such as UL, CSA, VDE, and CE.
- Experience with battery management and charging systems.
- Strong leadership capabilities to drive project tasks and ensure timely execution.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
