Job Description
The Accounting Manager oversees transactional activities within Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, leading a team to ensure accurate processing, internal controls, process improvements, and cash flow management, while mentoring staff and supporting audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead transactional activities within Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Credit teams to support cash flow.
- Coach and mentor the accounting team, ensuring proper internal controls and documentation.
- Review and improve accounting processes and procedures.
- Perform credit reviews for new customers and establish credit limits.
- Monitor customer payment term compliance and collection activities using KPIs.
- Escalate collection issues and resolve disputes with functional areas.
- Prepare weekly cash forecasts.
- Reconcile Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable accounts to the general ledger.
- Support year-end financial, customer, and supplier audits.
- Lead balance sheet account reconciliations.
Requirements
- Experience working in a dynamic organization leading teams that handle Credit, Collections, and Accounts Payable roles.
- Experience with balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Five or more years of experience as an Accounting Manager.
- Ability to coach and mentor the accounting team in the US, ensuring proper internal controls are maintained and proper documentation is maintained.
- Ability to review processes for improvements and lead process improvement efforts within accounting.
- Experience performing all credit reviews for new customers and establishing credit limits.
- Experience reviewing current customers for payment term compliance and consistency.
- Experience performing all collection activities timely and monitoring collector activities through KPIs.
- Ability to prepare the 13-weekly cash forecast.
- Ability to work through issues with functional areas to resolve disputes.
- Ability to reconcile Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable accounts to the general ledger.
- Support year-end financial, customer, and supplier audits.
- Must be a hands-on, energetic, driven leader.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback to team members and lead team projects.
- Proactively work with other members in the business to resolve issues.
Benefits & Perks
Salary range: $75,000 - $90,000
