Key Responsibilities
Reviews the correctness and completeness of the weekly work, which includes bills processing and bank transaction coding, and monthly work prepared by the Associate Accountant.
Ensures all weekly and monthly responsibilities of the Associate accountant are being done diligently.
Performs initial and/or final review of monthly and/or quarterly management reports.
Provide Accounting and Technical support to Accounting Associate(s); train or guide the Accounting Associate(s) where needed.
Handles new and complicated tasks, client onboarding, clean up and catch-up work, seasonal tasks (such as 1099), and creation or maintenance of accounting work papers.
Preparation of process documents and works together with the Manager on process improvements.
Attend to Manager/PM/client’s questions, concerns, or issues.
Work with the manager on people management – team’s capacity, performance evaluation, staff concerns, interviews for new hire, employee onboarding, etc.
In the absence of the Associate accountant, Senior accountant assumes the responsibility of the Associate.
In the absence of the Manager, can perform as the leader of the team.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting.
A licensed CPA is an advantage
3+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or outsourced accounting services
Solid experience with Xero and QBO is required. Experience in NetSuite is an advantage
Experience with BILL or other accounts payable platforms required
Experience handling a variety of industries, including SaaS & Technology , preferred
Experience supporting multiple clients or working in an outsourced/accounting services environment preferred
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a hybrid team organization by comfortably using communication tools such as Teams and emails to connect with co-workers.
