Job Description
This internship offers hands-on experience in tax and audit services within a top CPA and advisory firm, allowing students to work with diverse clients, develop professional skills, and participate in team projects and networking activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tax services including planning, consulting, and compliance for multiple clients
- Interact closely with clients to provide tailored tax strategies
- Work with partners to develop and implement innovative tax planning strategies
- Assist in improving clients' financial reporting capabilities and internal controls
- Evaluate accounting issues and stay updated on new accounting regulations
- Assess the quality of financial information used for strategic decision-making
- Build and maintain relationships with middle to large-sized audit and tax clients
Requirements
- High-potential accounting students interested in Audit and Tax
- Candidates who want to continue Aprio's standard of excellence and dive straight into hands-on accounting projects
- Availability to participate in the 2027 Spring Internship (January - April) or Summer Internship (June - August)
- Willingness to work in the Portland, OR office
- Ability to work with small, medium, and large clients across diverse industries
- Ability to interact closely with clients to provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance services
- Ability to work closely with partners on delivering innovative tax planning strategies
- Ability to work with and form relationships with middle to large-sized tax clients
- Ability to work with businesses and industry leaders to avoid financial and business risks
- Ability to improve financial reporting capabilities and internal controls for clients
- Ability to evaluate accounting issues and stay current with new accounting regulations that could impact long-term business growth
- Ability to assess the quality of information used for strategic business decisions and identify areas for operational improvements
- Willingness to work with diverse and energetic teams in the audit or tax departments
- Possession of or working towards a degree in accounting or related field (implied by student status and internship eligibility)
