Job Description
This internship offers hands-on experience in tax and audit services, allowing students to work with diverse clients, develop professional skills, and participate in real-world accounting projects within a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with tax planning, consulting, and compliance services for clients
- Work with partners to develop and deliver innovative tax strategies
- Support audit teams in evaluating financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting issues
- Help improve clients' operational efficiencies and assess the quality of financial information
- Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide relevant accounting and audit support
Requirements
- High-potential accounting students interested in Audit and Tax who want to continue Aprio's standard of excellence and dive straight into hands-on accounting projects.
- Candidates must be enrolled in an accounting program and be eligible to participate in the Spring 2027 (January - April) or Summer 2027 (June - August) internship programs.
- Ability to work in the Chicago metro area offices for the duration of the internship.
- Ability to work with small, medium, and large clients across various industries and develop a solid general foundation in accounting.
- Willingness to engage in on-the-job training and gain real-world experience in tax and audit services.
- Ability to interact closely with clients to provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance services, and work closely with partners on delivering tax planning strategies.
- Ability to work with and form relationships with middle to large-sized tax and audit clients.
- Credentialed audit expertise or working towards relevant credentials is implied but not explicitly mandatory; however, the internship involves working with credentialed audit experts and understanding accounting issues, internal controls, and new accounting regulations.
- Willingness to participate in group projects involving volunteering and social impact as part of the internship program.
- Ability to participate in networking events and activities to meet other employees and partners within the company.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States for the duration of the internship.
